sounds like it was possibly "houston stock" 
weight seems to be really killing performance in the new maros. i'm sure it would have just been a real pig if they would have put the LS2 in it. has anybody really started doing some lighweight mods to it yet !?!?

yeah, LS7 would have put it easily at $45K. still would have been much faster and cheaper than a garbage SRT8 Challenger lol.
but, i've heard some good things about the SS as far as the track goes. low 13's, pretty much on par with 98-02 f-bodies.
