Texas registration/title help Im looking into a 1930's Ford pickup. I might trade my car for it plus cash. the owner says he has the original 50's title but hasn't been transferred by the past 3 or so owners. It will be a project truck for me but its something i'd be driving around town every now and then. My biggest concern is for it to be registered and titled in my name. Does anyone know what will be required to get it done or will it be the same as titling and registering a newer vehicle?

All vehicles operated on Texas roads must be inspected. As for the title, as long as the original owners signature is on the title and the buyers name has not been filled in, you are fine. If the title has been signed by another buyer other than yourself, you will need to fill out a form stating the error on the title.
As for tags, it can be tagged as a regular Texas truck or you can put antique plates on it but there are stipulations on those tags. You can go to www.txdot.gov for more details on the plates.
