How to reflash the computer

How to reflash the computer hello,
okay first of all, I am new to the f-body field....I just bought a 94 trans-am ( LT1) The car has headers, Borla exhaust w/ no cat,160 tstat, and the car is running rich and has a erg light also, but it has the egr blocked off...the motor is bored .020 over, has some head work done (ported) and everything else is stock I guess....I just need to know if I can reflash the computer and not by just disconnecting the battery cables or the pcm power chip....just would like some input and any ideas on how to fix this or what may be causing this, thanxs in advance.....

Sounds like you need to get it tuned. Just resetting the computer won't fix your issues. Most of the sponsors on here can dyno tune it for you for around $500. Good luck.
They tune the pcm to the motor,timing,fuel,shift points,cooling fans,ect...That will take away your rich condition plus the motor will run like it should in every aspect,if its done right.If the motor is modded alot,maybe it has a small cam, then reflashing the computor will not cure anything.You will have to have it tuned wheather its mail order or dyno.But it could be something else.Are your O2 sensors ok?Do you have a exhaust leak or vacuum leak?Bad fuel pressure regulator?Maybe you'll get lucky and it will be something small.But bad O2's will make it run really rich and even foul plugs.

well that will have to wait until I get back, headed back to Afghanistan(army).....I will check it out when I get back.....But thanxs everyone for the information.....
