There's a bunch of Apt complexes on Jollyville road, also on FM 620 on the stretch between FM 2222 and Anderson Mill.

Both areas are North/Northwest Austin.

Best part of town except for the really high dollar **** and the NRRA meets are usually NW too.

Are you working somewhere near there, or going to school?

It really just depends what your budget is, try and choose that then see what falls in your price range for that area

The Riata is nice, if you need help finding a place, my good friend has an apartment locating business. Free service to you and will save you a ton of time. Let me know if you want their contact info.

Pfluggggggervillllleee ,Round Rock or G-town! Those are close enough nowadays with the way the area has grown. I lived in RR for 8 years before moving back to h-town this year. I have friends that live close to downtown, they paid out the **** for decent housing.

I was looking at a place up in Georgetown last month. Seemed like a real nice place just can't ever see myself living with the Austin traffic and all the weirdo's.

Williamson county is fairly conservative, RR, G-town etc. Travis county is another story. The Williamson County motto "come on vacation...leave on probation".. FYI, there is a half assed tollway that will bypass a lot of traffic. I could get from RR to Austin Bergstrom airport in 25 mins using it.

Yeah I wind up using the toll every time I go through Austin. Saves me a half an hour almost every time.

Id say look around Mopac/I35-2222/183, thats a pretty convenient north Austin area, otherwise Plugerville or RR

Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and Pflugerville are all great places to live that are enough outside the city to not be too crowded (or hippyish, lol), but close enough to still go get in some trouble if you feel like it. From north Round Rock, it takes me about 30 minutes to get to Campus on I35.
Also, I bet you could find some houses that're comparable to nice apartments' rents if you look hard enough, it's definitely a buyer's market right now. Also, I hear Hutto has some great house prices, but it seems kind of out of the way of everything, lol. I'd say try to stay kind of nearby I35, 183, or Mopac (aka Loop 1).

And fwiw, my parents live in the Brushy Creek/Cat Hollow area in Round Rock, and love it. I can go running in the neighborhood at 3am with my only worries being deer attacks, lol.

It's all good if you're set on an apartment though. I'd definitely suggest an apartment finder though. It makes everything so much easier.

Let us know how it all goes!

Yeah, Northwest Austin and Cedar Park are blowing up. They are finishing up a new post office near FM620 on Lake Creek Parkway to handle the increased population. Both houses across the street from me are for sale, but they probably won't last long.

I lived in Cedar Park for 12 years until 2 years ago moving here. I like it there as the crime is very low. Large police force and very fast response times. It is also a great place to live if you have kids. Both my boys went to school there all 12 years and the area is safe and great place to raise family.
