Default Vette Opinions, need input

Here in a couple months im gonna be looking to pick up my first vette. However im in a bit of a dilema and would like some input from current vette owners.

Option 1 is a C5 Z06 which i've always had my eye on. I've been seeing them in the 21k-25k range pretty regularly.

Option 2 is an 05 or 06 C6. I'm seeing these anywhere from the high 20k to low 30k range.

My question is this, which would you go with and why? Is the C6 worth the extra cash? All input is appreciated thanks.

C5's are beautiful. C6's are pretty much sex on wheels.

I'd say go with the C5Z it's a little bit nicer looking, less costly and slightly faster than a stock C6

I'd stay away from the '05s if possible. Weaker rear end and a couple other issues I can't remember off the top of my head.

It boils down to two things.

The C5 Z is more of a racecar, stock, and will outperform the C6.

The C6 is nicer in EVERY other way, and with the Z51 setup will perform on par with the C5 Z at a track.

^ i agree with him. you need to drive both. they are pretty different feeling cars. i like the raw, noisy, aggressive feel more. and a c5z will be better suited for you.
i see more old people driving c6's around here too, and they are nice cars with wheels, lowered, tinted, but pretty boring looking body lines compared to a FRC vette, of course just my opinion!

Just from what I have read, the majority who owned both prefer and have gone back to the C5 Z. So, I guess you got to drive them both if the look of either is equal to you.

If all you care about is what it runs in the quarter, get the C5Z. If you want a better all-around car, get the C6.

There is more to life that "what's its ET?"

Lol, LS3 vettes aren't that much quicker than LS2 vettes. About .2-.3 on average.
