Default Need a motor

Well I sold my 347 in my mustang and will be taking it out shortly to put in an lsx motor and was wondering what I should swap it with, I was thinking about and lq4 or lq9 motor based on what i've read and researched on the conversion forum here. Can somebody tell me what kind of abuse these blocks can take? Where I can find them? Also any other kind of blocks or motors I should look at?

there really is no advantage in strength and the iron blocks have such a high tensile strength and are more or less prone to break or crack a lil easier. not to mention the 100+ lbs in weight the car will gain from this. if it were me i would be looking at ls3 motors. as its pretty simple to make 500+ rwhp with nothing more than heads, cam and bolt ons.

Where are you getting this from Joe? You have it mostly backwards. For 600-700hp I would go with the alum block though. Above that iron will b more reliable even though it weighs about 80lbs more.
