My wife will be attending School there to finish her degree. I was going to rent a house but you can make house payments for what people are charging for rent.

UNT egh?
Denton isn't bad, but it is definately a college town.
It is about 30-45mins north of Ft. Worth and has an 1/8" mile track and has a population of around 120,000 people.

What he said above.

What price range are you looking in? reason why I say is my house is for sale and I’m just east of Denton. Takes about 15 min’s to get from my house to UNT. Good thing about my house’s location is I’m 5 min’s from the Lake Lewisville bridge. So I’m 10 min’s from Lewisville/Lake Dallas. 15 min’s from Frisco/Plano.

also only 15 min's from the 1/8 mile track

I would suggest looking in the Flower Mound area. Its nice and safe. Highland Village borders Flower Mound and was the safest city in the state of Texas all of the years i lived there. Both Flower Mound and Highland Village have an expensive side but they have homes between 150,000 to 250,000 mixed in between the large homes. Lewisville also borders both cities and has houses that are priced well but the crime is worse. But all of these cities are right off I-35 and would be a 15 to 20 minute drive to the campus.

Corinth is also nice with homes that are decently priced. Would be about a 10 to 15 minute drive to the campus from Corinth.

Denton is an old city and very college like. Also most of the major roadways are under construction right now. If all you plan on doing is going to school and hanging out then north of the bridge is fine, but if you have a shop or something outside of Denton then South of the bridge is better.

Ive been living there for about 3 years now. I go to school there.

Denton is a college town. The universities are very liberal, however the city its self is very conservative. The police, fire department, and hospital systems are great. The public schools are good. The north and south side of Denton are nice, but stay away from the eastside. The locals are bad *** too.

Also, there is a 1/8th mile drag strip 8 minutes north of Denton.

Any more questions?

Fry street, will be a good place to hang out, its my last year at UNT and got to say it was pretty good school, the campus is cool only got stopped once for loud music, so cops arent that bad besides I'm CJUS major so I understand, but I think you will like the city

Thanks guys for the feed back. My wife only has a year left of School so I will be traveling back and forth. Our buisness will stay in Waco. After further thought we are probably just going to rent something around the denton area.

We moved here over 10 years ago and we like it lot here. Like any town, there are good neighborhoods and then there are those not so good neighborhoods, but I think there are more of those good ones here.

Going back and forth to Waco will be a drag for you, though, since you need to drive through either Dallas or Fort Worth each way.

I live 15 minutes east of Denton in Savannah. My wife goes to UNT as well and I like it up here we go to Fry street on the reg and Ive never been to the track up there but Id say Denton is pretty tight for sure. Only drawback for me now is driving from here to Hutchins every day.

I live in north fort worth and drive through Denton every day to work. I lived in Denton most of my life untill about four years ago. I love the area and we are trying to get back that way. But it only takes me 30 min to get to Denton right past unt. It would be alot better of a drive for you to Waco from the north fort worth area, and am easy drive for her to Denton.
