Default I need help/advice from an auto adjuster...

It would be perfect if you work for Travelers, my car was stolen and never recovered. They are telling me that they refuse to pay for modifications, i have been paid for them before. The way I understand the policy, i'm supposed to be paid actual cash value which should include something for the parts and a reasonable amount for labor to install the parts even if i did it myself...is this completely incorrect? I provided a few receipts for some of the parts that were on the car but sometimes i buy stuff local and pay cash so i can't really produce a receipt for some of the stuff. I have pictures of everything pretty much. I'm not trying to get every last dollar i paid for everything, but 8900 for my 2000 Silver Hardtop SS with several thou in parts just isn't reasonable in my opinion.

Can anyone help me out?

You normally get Kelly BLue Book, plus if you have receipts they may give you a percentage of what the receipts were for up to a certain dollar figure, most likly $1000-$2000 max extra. I have never heard or seen them paying for labor for installation. This is just going from what I have seen personally.

im work for travlers but i mainly work for germaina i dont mess with travlers to much becasue they are so much more higher that other companys i work for. im pretty sure that they dont any for labor etc. and if the mods werent with the policy like listed then i think they wont be covered either. you need to call your agent and ask and they can tell you

This guy pretty much is right on. With out added coverage and all receipts they might not give you too much. Most ins companies go off nada. If I were you I would pull that at nadaguides.com and also find local listings of cars for sale comparable to yours and and use that as documentation to get as much $$$ as u can. Next ride add the mods to your policy to make sure they are covered it doesnt cost that much. Good luck.

^^^^I have a bunch of ads off the forum in an email for the adjuster, hopefully this helps me out.

I will for sure be adding a 'rider/endorsement' or whatever they are called.

They don't owe you for the add-ons. In fact they might give you less for the car with certain mods. You can fight them on the amount that they are offering you. Sometimes they price out a SS as a Z28. Pull ads from the newspaper, Autotrader and any other sources. The more backup for prices you have the better chance you will have of getting more money. They should also pay you for 6.25% tax on the value of the car and they might pay you a pro-rated amount for your registration sticker.

Good luck!
