Default Scam or No Scam?? Need help!

I am selling one of my cars. I got this reply...what do you think? What are the risks of giving him my paypal? Sounds a little too good to be true...

Thanks for the mail , and thanks for the price given, still at the
range, i will offer you $12500 USD. if you accept my offer cos am
buying the car for Birthday Gift for dad and i am at sea at the moment
as i am a marine engineer and i really want the car to be a surprise
for dad so i wont let him know anything abot the car until it gets
delivered to him , i am sure he will be more than happy with the car.I
insisted on paypal because i dont have access to my bank account
online as i dont have internet banking, but i can pay from my paypal
account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it, i will need you to give
me your paypal email address so i can make the payments asap for the
car and pls if you dont have paypal account yet, it is very easy to
set up, go to www.paypal.com and get it set up , after you have set it
up i will only need the e-mail address you use for registration with
paypal so as to put the money through.I have a pick up agent that will
come and pick the car up after i have made the payments.
PS:you can end the auction on the site yourself, you will see a place
where u can end the auction and my pick up agent will come around to
do the pick up as soon as i have made the payments for the car.
Thanks

as much as that sounds like a scam... if all he is asking for is your e-mail address then i dont see how he could screw u over.. i mean if he puts the money in your bank account before he picks the car up then i don't see how he could screw u..

SCAM!!! the shitty grammar and mentioning a shipping agent are pretty much a telltale there. the guy will send the money and once he receives the car will dispute it and get everything back and u will lose out on your ride. i say face to face deal or get cash upfront .

That's what I was thinking. I am going to try and call Paypal tomorrow and see what they say, and if they're closed I will try on Friday. The grammar bothers me as well. I really don't feel like drama right now.

I have already gotten a few similar emails.
Here's my response for another one from earlier:

1.)car is in great condition
2.)Areola, New Mexico
3.)$100,000 is the final price.

reply with your phone # and tell him to call you, to discuss further details. If he's is legit, he should have no problem giving you a call. I think its a scam.

I just sent him a note to give me his or his shippers number. We'll see what he has to say about that.

It's a scam. You posted on craigslist, yes? There's no "auction" and no way of "ending auction". It's not ebay.
Lol.
Don't fall for that crap.

is it really that easy to get your money back if you have proof of sale?

because my brother had a guy not pay him like $100 bucks one time and it took almost a year and an assload of work to get the money.. i'm not even sure he was refunded 100%..

I'm sure its a scam.. and i agree with getting him to call you..

but jw if paypal really is that easy to screw people over with

Scam scam scam scam scam. If you have to ask it is a scam. They have stolen or fished someones paypal and you are going to loose if you deal with him. You will have no recourse or help from law enforcement. I own a money service business I see scams nearly every day. Trust me and everyone else that has said scam.

I agree on it being a scam as well, this is usually what happens with paypal scamers, they only ask for your E-mail for Paypal, sned the money through (yes there is actuall money sent and it shows up into your account) but at the same time the money is transfered there is a tap on that transfer that send the routing info back to the scamer giving him your account number, bank routing number, Card number, ETC..after the item is picked up and in their hands, they not only transfer the money they sent you out, but your entire balance. they profit from your account..
