www.hptuners.com
www.efilive.com

It's not something just "get into" without some real experience. The learning curve is pretty steep. There are tuning schools now that you can pay to teach you. Just google them.

i bought hptuners and tried to tune myself and just gave up. but im VERY good with computers and it didnt help one bit. i really didnt have much free time, which is the main reason i gave up. you have to sit and read for 100s of hours and sit and tune for 100s of hours to teach yourself how to tune.

Greg Banish offers tuning course seminars to teach you how here:
http://www.calibratedsuccess.com/

He also has a book that explains how efi and engines work, no specifics on efilive or hptuners though I liked it because it helped put everything together
http://www.amazon.com/Engine-Managem...0751081&sr=8-1

He also has a DVD that teaches basic LS1 tuning with HPTuners and includes a data disc with correct aftermarket injector parameters for proper calibration.
It's expensive but I was able to use it, learn some good info, get my proper injector data, and sell it without losing much money at all.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SME-DVD-1/

The Tuning School also offers seminars to teach tuning and they have two book/movie courses, a beginner's course and an advanced course.
I have the beginner's course and it taught me some really good info. Both courses are expensive, to me anyway. I'll sell my beginner's course if anyone is interested in it. I've learned all I can from it.

i went to The tuning school.. it was up in dallas and it was two days,8 hours each day. the first day its in class. you get a book that gives you the steps of how to tune. the second day we got to dyno tune our own vehicles! it was pretty badass. when they come back i will take the next seminar which is advanced seminar.

Been to both the beginners and advanced seminar's at The Tuning School, definitely two classes worth taking IMO. It's definitely something you should look into!

Many people start off thinking it is something learned very easily but quickly find out just the opposite. I see many people go through this and in the end have to pay a real tuner to finish the job.

can't be easy, think about all the tuners out there that have the software, the dyno and that have the experiance of tuning 100's of cars and you still hear bad stuff about some of them!!!
