The same thing happens to me when I drop my 5 year old off at school in the mornings. He is so proud of my car (heads/cam 02 ws6). He always gets out, points at it and yells to the other kids "See my dad's hot rod!" One little boy won't let his mom walk him inside if he hears me coming, he has to wait until I pull up. Sometimes the parents in their minivans look at me like I am the antichrist. To hell with them.

dude you do look like the caped crusader, lol its the black wheels,
what everyone needs to realize is if you see the car from the kids perspective,viewpoint,eyelevel,etc.. it looks different than from an adult standing up and you cant just squat down and look you have to be young too.

man that is amazing how we are changing little kids' lives one mod at a time...

those precious seconds of admiration can inspire a future hot rodder or two with just a few revs or a few marks on the pavement

I remember the first time behind the wheel of our 79 Vette that felt like the batmobile to me, the fenders are so long.

People call my car one of two things...

1. Batmobile

2. KITT and/or Knight Rider

Funny, this older black woman at work calls me Knight Rider because of my car. When people that don't know my car hear her say that, they look at me like I'm crazy because they think it means something else...

Was leaving the movies (early show) one evening with the gf. A little kid and his mom were walking by; the kid asked his mom if that (pointing towards my car) was a transformer. My gf informed him it, in fact, is a deceptacon. His response...."I KNEW IT COOOOOOOOOOOOOL"

sweet story man. I had one just like that. I was cruising down the boardwalk and a little kid tugged on his dads pant leg and pointed to my car as it drove past him.

that car was pretty popula with kids. especially since i had it around the time the movies came out. i hated driving a car that was a copy of another car (i didnt paint it like that), but it was pretty cool to see a kid get excited over somethin like that

Not in any trans am but my c4 I pulled up to a light and a lil kid was in a deep stare so I gunned it a lil and he looked to dad and said something. The dad gave me a thumbs up and we went on our way.

Sure feels nice to get props from strangers.

Im liking all the stories guys! didn't think this thread would take of like it has!
There are always the days and weeks, where you don't get any races, or you hear a new rattle, or something stops working that really drives us crazy, but when that one day comes, where we beat a stang, or get a good compliment, or inspire the next president, it more then makes up for it IMO

I have a little sister, my only sibling who is going into 6th grade next year (middle school) and shes already begging me to drive her to school. Man I love having LTs and LMII exhaust. My sister already tells me she wants a Pontiac or a trans am when she gets older that makes my world!
