i have a sig p220 .45 cal and love it, its a little on the exspensive side but man it fires so smooth and its never jammed on me. i also have a .38 smith and wesson snub nose revolver. ive fired glocks but wouldnt own one they're too light and if youve ever watched one being fired in slow motion you can see the frame flex no thanks!!!

I was going to get the mini version of my gun. The px4 sub compact but since my wife may be using this one the S&W 442 Airlight (weighs less than a pound) revolver makes the most sense.

Simple point and click use. For me getting the slide back quickly is not an issue but for my wife even on the sub compacts (She tried Baby glock 26 and some others) it's too much of a struggle. She needs a simple point and click gun.

No slide, no hammer, just a trigger.

I have an XD 9mm with a 4inch barrel. Last time I was out shooting I was hitting quarter size targets from 10-15 yds. I've never been able to get that accuracy out of a glock. Both are great guns, and I have never really experienced a failure in either.

For a carry weapon I prefer a double action something like a sig, where I can have a round in the tube, and the hammer down. This is not something you'd be able to do safely with an XD in my opinion because in order to have a round in the tube, the hammer is partially cocked.

I own both the XD.40 and Glock 26. I love the safety features on the XD. But love the pull on the G26. Its personal preference but my choice over the two is the G26 to carry.

Consider the recoil before buying that for her. In 2 shots, my wife broke 2 nails and one dug into her thumb from a light revolver like that. I shot it too, and it is a handful.

yup

the less the gun weighs the more it will be affected by recoil.

I own both an XD and a Glock, both service size, and I would have to say I prefer the XD in my honest opinion. The Glock is a great gun no doubt but just the feel of the XD plus the features and accuracy make it my favorite. I have NEVER had an issue with either of them. Plus their customer service dept rocks!

If you think that looks funny, you should see an 11 round clip hanging out the bottom of a Glock 23.

I have both a Glock 23 and a Springfield XD40. The Glock is much easier to conceal carry with the original clip but looks like a mini uzi with the extended clip. I cannot personally speak on how smooth the guns shoot because honestly, I have never fired either weapon. The only gun that I seem to ever pull out to fire is my Sig Sauer P29. If I had the extra $700 laying around, I would purchase a P39 which is a snub barrel .40.

Best thing to do is go to the stores that are selling them and see how they fir in your hand. All three are pretty good. Everybody has there own opinion. Just make sure when your looking through the site, as if your aiming, make sure the rear sites arent too spread apart. Another words, you dont want too much play between the rear sites and the front sites, for accuracy reasons ofcourse. My opinion is the Springfield XD. you cant go wrong with that. It was bought of a company by the name of HS2000 and all springfiled did was slap their name on the slide and added 3 extra calibers. If springfield bought the rights of another company for the gun, then Yeah, its good.

By the way I shot the HS2000 before springfield had their hands on it and i loved that gun too...

Sorry, I am stupid sometimes. I actually have a Glock 27 with a 9 round clip but have a 15 round clip in it now. The first picture shows you the difference in the sizes between the full size SA and Sig compared to the smaller Glock.

Glock 27 with original 9 round clip.

Same Glock with 15 round clip.

This is what I bought for my wife in case she ever has to shoot, all she has to do it point the red dot/flashlight combo and squeeze the trigger. Now to get her to not be afraid of guns.
