New guy in DFW Been lurking the forums a little lately. Lots of good info. I recently aquired a little S10 Blazer with a 350, and after listening to my buddys LS build for his truck, and his friends 1000hp streetable LS Camaro, I think Ive gotta give it a shot. These things look bullet-proof (6 bolt main? Im in love) so I think one of these and a 4L60e are gonna have to find their way into this little thing. I think Ive got a 4l60 on the way, so Im gonna be looking for a either a 6.0 or maybe a aluminium 5.3 (L33 I think). One thing Ive got questions about is the headers. S10V8.com has a cheap set, but they are only 1 5/8" primary's. Is the extra $300 or so worth it to step up to full lenght 2" heddmans? I am planning on a mild cam (trans has 3600 stall, so I can get a little on the mean side) and maybe a head swap or milling the heads to get compression up to 11-11.5 to 1. I know it will need a full tune, and lots of little BS to get it all going, but I think I will end up with a cool little toy.
