I'm participating in the Viper. It doesn't have a rollbar, so if it goes 190 mph I may only get one pass. Here's to hoping it gets kicked out.

I'll be there Sat all day, maybe Sunday.

Spectating is boring, been there twice. There are only a handful of cars that are interesting to watch, the rest (including mine) are yawn. Its like putting a lawn chair next to Beltway 8 and watching the freeway. Walking the pits, checking out cars, talking with buds is what makes the event fun. The cars running is quite boring after the first hour.

They just put that up so people don't go nuts. We had two coolers and no one said anything... It's not like they go through you vehicle and search it or your camp sites. Bring koozies, beverages, ice, sunscreen, fold out chairs, a radio (they announce the mph's on a fm station), and a sun shade awning and you are good to go.

I enjoy the mile. You basically just relax and hangout while watching badass cars rip it down the strip. It isn't some high intensity event so don't expect to be entertained the whole time. +1 on Tony's comment. It's more of a social thing.

Enjoy guys

We'll be out there spectating and drinking a few cold ones. I'll probably bring my awning to stay in the shade. Stop by and say hello if you want.

Damn! That is moving. I wonder if SW will be able to take back the supra record. Can you post up when AMS runs their drag evo (silver)? I'm curious to see what that thing can do in the mile.

Good Friday showing by LMR in the two black Camaros. Old Betz, the APS twin turbo car ran 189+mph in their low boost shakedown run. The other twin 67mm black Camaro ran 201.6mph on their second pass, and this too, was only at 13psi. Expect the Camaros to step it up tomorrow. Only saw one Corvette above 200mph. Several Ford GTs and Porshes above 200 and two turbo Lamborghinis in the 230+mph range. Man, there are some high dollar cars out this year!

I am crewing for the Duramax diesel powered . 1st pass 199.2. 2nd pass turned it up but had to get out of it early. Still ran 198.6. GPS shows over 200 ,but that does count. Try again in the morning.

The 993 Porsche went 236.1 today and 229 at the end.

The blown BBC first gen running 207 was awesome.

Does anyone know what the red/black Viper coupe ran? Car is baller as hell, and runs a Hollinger sequential 6 speed box. Believe it's in the 1100/1200 range.
