If you think these markups are rediculous try buying a supra! those markups are INSANE!

OP: GL with your search. I was selling mine some time ago 99/M6 140k for 18k. So look at this this way, youre either going to get a high mileaged abused piece of **** for 6k or youre going to get a decent/nice vehicle for the 14k price youre looking for.

Have you tried searchtempest.com?

It searches ALL Craigslit ads in a given radius.

And Hankshelper.com searches CL, eBay, cars.com, cars direct.com, autotrader.com also in a given radius.

Each allows you to narrow and focus your search down to equipment on the car.

Now, FWIW ...

For $14K you can find nice 00-02 C5s and an occasional 04-05 CTSV.

Rule #1 in car shopping,

You never tell anyone how much you have available to spend!

Yup, i think if someone walked up with 10-11k cash in there hands they would contemplate, think about it for a minute. Then decide, I will take it. Its happened to me before.

If you show up with cash in hand, people are much more negotiable then just talking them down over the phone or something.

OH and buy one thats stock. Don't buy any modified junk out there because you have no idea 1) what has been done to the car, 2) how it was driven as a result (they are normally driven very hard if they are modified--now I know some of you don't drive it hard so save it.), and 3) you have no idea the quality of the parts and the installation job on the car so as a result it may not work perfectly no matter the miles on the car. Finally take the amount of money your going to spend off the web and you will easily be able to find a nice firebird for that amount of money. I paid right over $10 w/out tt&l for mine and I couldn't be happier because it's in very good condition and it was completely stock,
