Default Rattle In Muffler

I just got back running a few errands in my car, did nothing crazy just got on it a few times like normal. And when I was probably about 2-3 miles from being home I heard a rattling in my exhaust. I figured something came loose and I'd tighten it back up when I got home...but when I got home the sound was actually coming from the muffler...it sounds like something is actually inside the muffler just tumbling around....

My engine drives and sounds normal...this can't be a dropped valve right??? **** I'm just waiting on this **** to cooldown so I can take it off and see wtf it is...

the baffle in the muffler probably rusted or corroded.

Ah ya I guess so, will have to take it to a muffler shop and get a new one I guess? I was wanting to go with something other than a Flowmaster anyways.

You also might want to check the heatshield right under the passenger seat, mine was loose and was making a rattling noise. Got under the car and screwed a nail into it and it stopped making the noise.

IMO, I love the way Magnaflow sounds and fits, but if you're running duels than that route I prefer dynomax Bullets..but everyone has their own taste as far as exhaust goes....but most will say flowmaster is crap....

although these are just my own opinions

well i am one of the few ppl that swear by spintech. i love the sound. just do me a favor and go look at their website. and if you are running duals then you will sound very similar to what a gto with spintechs would sound like...so go youtube it.

but if u decide against it, i had bullets in my duals and liked them as well.

Ya Spintech sounds awesome. I already had a previous stance on Magnaflow and listening to some GTO youtube videos it doesn't appear to me that they have changed anything. It sounds too muffled for my tastes.

Is there really a huge advantage for true dual exhaust? I'm considering consolidating my exhaust so I have 1 fake cat and 1 muffler, instead of having to buy 2 fake cats and 2 mufflers.

I took it to Jesse @ C&B in Haltom, he threw on my spintech and mounted some fake cats for me as well to pass visual inspection. Did a great job and clearance is good. The sound is badass, I'm happy I got rid of my flowmasters.

Check your muffler bearings.

Common problem on these cars.
