Default Block Casting Numbers

I am putting an LS-1 in my airplane. I had heard that the 99-01 LS-1 had issues, I bought a new motor from a GM distributor in Mich, the block numbers were 12561166, is this one of the new blocks made after the issues were fixed.

There are a few people that have put an LS1 in an airplane. They put it over to a dry sump and fly the hell out of it.

Why issues are you referring to? The piston slap? Don't think that was a block issue but a collapsed skirt on the piston itself.
