Inspection/tuning/pcm swapping

I'm not sure if anyone here can help me or not but...

I have a 96 Firebird. V6. Well, It seems '96's are not tunible w/out swapping pcm's for a 97.

Well... What I'm wondering is what happens when it comes to getting the car inspected? If I change pcm's itll have another VIN in it and I'm not sure if thats a problem or not getting it to pass.

I need a tune because I've changed gears, put a posi unit in and bolt ons.

Does the '96 LT1 guys have this problem also? If so does anyone know if this is an issue or non issue?

Much appreciation if someone can get me some answers.

the vin number in the computer will not affect your ability to have the car inspected.

my 02 ss had a computer from a different car. I never knew until i had it tuned with hp tuners...the vins didnt match. Never had issues with inspections.
