Default window motor question

I know that the f bodies are notorious for slow windows, but my drivers side window sometimes works fine, and sometimes it will go like three quarters of the way up and then slow down until it stops. And then I have to wait a minute or so for it to roll the rest of the way up. If I wait like thirty seconds and then try, then it will go a half inch or so. I'm just curious as to what is causing this.

Ok that what I figured but I wanted to double check. and jbz thanks, but my dad had to replace his driver side motor in his ta so he can help me out. Also the previous owner was telling me that the reason that the windows go down so slow is that the wires are extremely small and it is restricting the amount of voltage that is getting to the motor. he said there was a mod or kit you could buy that would fix it. Is this true or is he full of ****?

he deff. seemedlike the kind of person that would just bs.

for instance, he claimed to have built all these cars, and then he tells me that he put fiberglass insulation in all the panels so that it would cut down on road noise (the fiberglass insulation in your attic) and it was dirty too. you could just tell that he pulled it out of his attic. And there was a LOT of it behind all the panels, took it out, road noise is no different, although I think the car is about 50lbs lighter lol

No there is a switch you can buy that ups the output on the voltage at the motor. Basically a relay. I can't vouch for it and say it works, I don't know but I know it exists.
