Default Dynoed the 2001 silverado

Did better than i imagined, i assumed 260 maybe, but stock put down 272 HP and 286 RW torque, for 177 K miles i was pretty impressed.

Now, tuned, it did 292 RWHP and 312 RWTQ, it has a K&N drop in and 4 inch exhaust from the stock Y merge back. I still have not done the coolant bypass and what not.

I think through a 4L80 trans, big *** 2 piece drive shaft, 8.5 rear and 265/75/16 tires, it was pretty decent.

Those numbers are just flat out wrong. Something is messed up with the correction factor or something but that engine puts out 300 in stock form. Stock 5.3s put down 230ish through a 60e. But as with any dyno its all about the measured gain and yours seem to be pretty decent. Was that on 93? You have a 10.5" rear too. Coolant bypass isnt really worth it either, I only did it because I lost the small hose.

Well, didnt know i had a larger diff, wow. ****** A, LOL.

I will do the coolant bypass since i have the **** to do it, i hear the descreened MAF is just not worth anything and can actually hurt it.

leave the maf alone. the tb bypass wil help some but nothing dramatic.
a cai and a c/o will wake it up.
but idk the c/o gets annoying in a dd truck after while.

Dont waste your time on the MAF, causes more problems than its worth. Headers are the next best bang for the buck on your truck.

LOL, not a race truck sir, but if the
LQ4 took a ****, a junk yard LQ4 with a LS6 cam and ported heads would be the replacement.

Yes, headers in the long run will be in there and i think 300 RWHP would be a done deal.

the only thing hurting your numbers is the 80e, the 2 piece drive shaft is a lot better/stronger than a one piece in a truck.

if your truck is a 1/2 ton and has a stock rear end it is an 8.5 (8.6 really)

it doesnt have to be a "race truck" to have headers and a cam, my truck has full bolt ons, cam, heads, and a 3600 converter and i drive it everyday....and still get over 20mpg on the highway, 18-19mpg average

It has the 10.5 full floater rear, so i know that is probably eating more than a 8.5 but then again, it might not be with the hub assembly doing most of the work.

If i did a cam, it would be a LS6. Otherwise, headers and bolt ons are a must.

numbers arent to bad really. my 5.3 untouched no exhaust did 260 with a 87 octane tune.
18 mpg doesnt sound to far off with a tune either. my 02 2500hd will get 16.7 on the road doing 65,and it is BONE STOCK minus the 265s
so with a good tune and right driver 18mpg is very achievable.
congrats

I will go 6.0 with my tune VS whatever, LOL.

Anything newer with less miles should get me i would imagine, otherwise, it is just a truck for hauling rides to and from.
