HS football is big around here. There is nothing wrong with wanting the team where you went to school do well. I didn't go to Pearland, but hats off to them for winning state. Well done guys! They have a great community and they're very successful in all sports.

Nothing at all with rooting for your hometown team. Some towns like mine....high school football is HUGE and hundreds of thousands of dollars are poured into these national powerhouse teams every year. The entire community supports the teams like it's their own kids out there playing. At the high school I graduated in, every Friday night you will find 10,000 + people packed into the stadium and the town basically shuts down lol. Sounds crazy but that's how it is. I graduated HS in 2005 and still support my team, its a big deal to people around here...and it's somewhat hard to explain to someone unless you are part of something big like is going on at Byrnes High School or this school called Pearland. Congrats again, hopefully ya'll will stay at the top and get big time national recognition, ESPN games, big contracts for Nike, etc.....

LoL@talking trash to a kid that's happy his school won State. Even if it was an adult, who cares? You can't root for or be happy for a team if you don't have some immediate personal connection with the team? I didn't realize we had so many Texans, Cowboys, Rockets, and Astros players posting on Tech!
Congrats to Pearland. Way to finish off the season strong. They jumped from 37th to 7th in the nation with that win. The Championship game was very entertaining to watch!
