Default Odd car troubles (come in)

So my 2006 Explorer v-8 has been slow/hard starting for a week or so. Tonight i go to Oreilys and get a charging system test, it shows bad battery (guy wasnt a young clueless punk)so i bought a battery. I replaced the battery, and now the damn thing will not HIT A LICK......like nothing but a click from the relay in the dash.......WTF?

Ive fine tooth combed all fuses and relays, starter relay is good, fuses are good. I have hit on the starter case and checked and rechecked all the fuses again.

Aside from the starter being junk, what would cause it to crank with a shitty battery, and be completely useless when i put in a fresh battery?

Alternator was right on target with the specs.

Checked every possible ground wire i could fine under the hood and dash.

Im just stuck on the fact of its starting 5 minutes before a NEW battery, then not so much as a click.

alright lets get to diagnosing.
car was slow/hard start but it still started
you put in new battery and now doesnt start. hmmm
might check your connections man. only two but if you got a bad connection that could be your problem. check the battery cable make sure they have good contact. if your relay is clicking that means you have a good fuse and your getting power. you could still not have enough voltage or cold cranking amps to power it. new batteries can still be bad. a good way to check a battery is to load test it while its on (try to jump start it) a battery can show good voltage with no load and have no cold cranking amps. hope this helps

have you looked for corrosion on the battery wires? It's hard to tell if there is any under the insulation but the wires will be less flexible if there is corrosion there. Google upgrading the big 3, that will tell you how to replace the main charging and ground wires on the truck. I have done this on a few cars and it has solved things from bad transmission symptoms (Isuzu Trooper) to weak A/C and sporatic gauge trouble (Mustang). I always reccomend doing this upgrade because it's cheap and relatively easy. If it doesn't work it certainly won't hurt anything.

Well, no dice, the guy even came out after he closed, helped me troubleshoot, AND went back in and turned off the alarm after hours to swap out a new battery with another new battery just in case. Still no change,

SO............Is anyone a mechanic in Beaumont???? my ride is here, and i live in Houston. Its gonna get expensive real fast buying tools as i need them and working in a parking lot to replace a starter, and putting my life in the hands of a factory jack.
