I remember when you could get them for $10. Thru the DMV.

Please explain what you mean. Getting a specialty plate with random numbers/letters is different than a personalized plate.

Random n/l is when state selects any number/letter combination- just like the normal plates, but you get to pick the background thou. this way is cheaper if you only care about background.

Other option i believe is 3 numbers and 3 letters of your choise and background.

Person. plate is when you select number/letter combination like "2fast" and a backgourd to go with it!

I rock the cheapy custom plate that I bought through the D.O.T.

was only 70 bucks for the year, plus your registration fees.

Thanks for explaining what I had already posted earlier in the thread.

Greed4Speed suggested that someone could get the specialty plates from DPS and personalize them cheaper. I'd like to determine whether or not he knows something I don't.

I've had mine for three years. Even though myplates is making the new plates. TXdot still lets me pay $40 a year through them. I even got a new pair made for $6 . By the way, ignore my ugly exhaust tips, wont be on long.

I can't justify spending $250 a year on my car that doesn't keep it serviced, or make it faster. The designs are awesome, but I have never been able to do what I want on myplates.com with 6 digits.
