Default Kots

some local guys are looking into hosting a Southern KOTS similar to the one that's held in chicago(video link below) rules will be similar as well. entry fee is still up for discussion, as of now we're trying to get a head count of how many possible participants would show. if you would be interested in particiapting or spectating post up and all suggestions and comments are welcomed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89z1ahQV0NI

RULES:

GENERAL GUIDELINES:
--Participant's entry list will NOT be revealed until the day of the event. All attendees will receive a list of racers entered at the gate (racers & spectators).
--Racers will now have the option to choose their 1st round opponents. You can call out any registered racer, and if they accept then that's it! In short, two racers must agree to race each other (KOTS rules, heads up only), and may not be from the same team/crew. KOTS staff must approve the matches to ensure no "fixed" races. If racers do not wish to choose an opponent (or accept a challenge), they will defer to the standard draw matching after all matches have been arranged. (depending on the success, this may become a standard rule for KOTS 1st round)
--After any matches are declared, racers will be drawn at random from a hat/box/bag/bra/etc
--Bye runs will be the last name drawn, and will automatically race against the first name drawn in the following round. The bye car does not have the option of making a hit.
--All races will use a flashlight start, with the track win lights determining the victor. (ANY UNAUTHORIZED PEOPLE NEAR THE FINISH LINE WILL BE EJECTED IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT A REFUND)
--Any premature starts/jumping FOR ANY REASON will result in a DQ.
--Crossing the center line in front of your opponent (before the win light indicates a winner) will result in a DQ.
--Should the need for a ruling arise from the KOTS staff, the majority rule will hold ultimate authority in making said ruling, and all rulings are final--PERIOD.
--No track prep or burnouts beyond starting line (cars may not pass starting line during/after burnout for any reason--immediate DQ possible) Any attempts to prep the track may result in a DQ of the racer whose crew makes the attempt.
--A racer may be DQ'd for any reason not listed here at the discretion of KOTS staff. (aka: NO bull****, please)
--DQ will result in forfeit of entry fees for racer and crew.

ABOUT THE CARS:
--There are no restrictions of any kind beyond the tire & suspension requirements outlined below...

TIRE:
--28 x 10.5 (non-W) max tire size (any brand) ("shaved" W tires will result in a DQ)
--28 x 11.5 D.O.T. slick
--any size any brand true drag radial
--Maximum two tires per axle, one per side (for you sneaky bitches)

SUSPENSION:
--Stock-style drive-axle suspension (no ladder bar/4-link entries)
--Coilovers OK
--CalTracs/traction bars, monoleafs or relocated springs OK for leaf spring cars
--Any front suspension OK
--NO WHEELIE BARS

CHASSIS:
--Working head lights, tail lights, and turn signals(car must be streetable)
--Mini Tubs allowed (ABSOLUTELY NO FULL TUBBED CARS)
--All cars MUST have mufflers
--Parachutes ok

I think that's an awesome idea. There are many of cars down in the south that would be great contenders. I always like watching the KOTS races but they're so far away and I don't have anything that would stand a chance.

Where would you have it located?(city wise)

A local site down here tried to get something similar to this set up, unfortunately it got rained out and most of the big money racers that were going to come down or show already had prior engagements for every other weekend in the same time frame.

One thing I do not agree with is the no-prep rule, unless I am looking at it wrong. Is the track going to be prepped at all, or is it going to just be bare concrete? In that case I doubt you see much interest as that would be extremely unsafe. The way we were going to work it down here that the most people agreed on, was that the track was going to scrape the first 330', prep the last 330' for safety's sake, and allow the racers to prep their own lanes to make it as close to a true street race as possible.
