transmission help!

transmission help! i was driving my car and i was under a little accl. and i heard a pop, it stopped pulling and i put it in park, put it back in gear, drive wouldnt work but the other gears did for about 20 sec, then they quit, now the only thing that works is rev and park, can anybody help me out on what the prob might be?

Pull it out. Take it apart and post pics. It can be a number of things sprag, clutches, cracked drum, and the list can go on. Rev works so the pump is good. Pull it down to low and see what happens.

If needed, I have a 4L60e that belongs to a good friend here at my shop and he is wanting $600.00 for it. I will have to look up the post but I think it had 20k on it when he bought it.
