Default Any carshows in Midland

I willbe moving to Midland Odessa area. I am wondering what the car culture is around there. Any shows, cruises, gatherings, and so on. What is the closest track and is it full quarter.

The car scene here in midland is dead, me and some friends go to Odessa cause that's where all the action is. Desert thunder raceway is the only track we have around here and its an 1/8 mile track.

Desert Thunder Raceway is the track in midland. Its 1/8th mile. Big car scene there, but I never got into it. It seemed for every cool guy I met, there were 15 buttholes. Having river flybys done on me with kids and "adults" flipping me the bird on a weekly basis, added to that website they used to have where all the 25-40 year olds acted like kids was enough to get me to avoid that car scene while I was stuck there.

Hope you don't have to live there long.

There is a corvette club that has a meet every now and then. A car show will pop up a couple times a year. There are lots of nice cars in the area but most sit in garages. www.rowdyrides.com is the local website to where you can find out what is going on in the area.

Sonic in Odessa on Andrews hwy is the starting point. I never put anyone's club decal on my car. My car is a little more than a few boltons. The air/altitude sux there but the weather is usually forgiving. At night. There are immature people anywhere you go. TSP isn't to faraway. Lubbock has a 1/4. Track.

I dont even go to the meets in the area. I do get to see a lot of cars either at my shop, my buddies shop, or my other buddies shop. So I guess if you want to find some car guys that aren't the immature people you see driving around the sonic in Odessa look for the shops. If you are in odessa watch out for tillery his car is slllooowww!!
