Burp the radiator, sounds like u may have air in your coolant system.
(Add enough water and DEX-COOL™ engine coolant, meeting the GM specification 6277M in order to provide a solution that is at least 50% antifreeze, but no more than 70% antifreeze. )
1.Add enough water to fill the cooling system.
2.Run the engine until the thermostat opens.
3.Stop the engine. Repeat the steps in the draining procedure until the drained fluid is nearly colorless.
4.Remove, clean, and reinstall the coolant recovery reservoir
5.1. Close the air bleed vent when the bubbles disappear and only the coolant is visible.
5.2. Fill the radiator to just below the filler neck.
5.3. Fill the coolant recovery reservoir to the FULL HOT mark.
5.4. Add two cooling system sealer pellets, GM P/N 3634621.
5.5. Install the reservoir cap.
With the radiator pressure cap removed, run the engine until the engine reaches normal operating temperature
With the engine idling, add engine coolant to the radiator until the coolant level reaches the bottom of the filler neck

Your thermostat might be getting stuck.... I would also check and make sure your water pump isn't leaking. It could also be the temperature sensor also. I had the same problem with mine in my 96 z28....

sorry, calm down....its just a breakdown on radiator filling from the GM Service Book. Pellets that GM sold I think were to help with Corrision I think, but u can ignore that and follow the other directions there Turbo
