My fiancee & I are planning on renting a little house on Pedestrian beach in Surfside for a week.. Any of you guys been down there since they re-did the beach or heard anything good or bad to say about the rentals? We've gone to Galveston the past 2 summers & really enjoyed it, but we are looking for something a little more relaxing with less people crowding the beach.. We're thinking early Sept since school should be back in & still hot enough to lay on the beach. Thanks fellas!

The water is usually a little cleaner than Galveston. I prefer to surf there over Galveston. Better fishing.
There's much less to do. No Strand, restaurants, shopping, etc.
