Default need opinions

alright everyone, i need a little input on this move i'm trying to make.. i have a 5.3l, 317, z06cam, ls6 intake, running off an m6. Was built for boost but i've decided to go NA. I found some LS6 heads with new springs, 7.450 pushrods, gasket set, ls2 chain also. Along with a 236/242 580/590 112lsa cam. Now my question is.. i'm running 9:1 compression with my setup.. how would this change of h/c would go with the 5.3?
thanks

what do you mean how will it change? are you wanting guesstimates on dyno #'s or something?

what were the rings gapped at if it was "built for boost"? what size are the pistons? That's going to make a difference in its n/a power. also if your new compression is still 9:1 with the new H/C you can run more timing.

go here to find your new static compression, b/c i dont see it being 9:1 with the LS6 heads.

9:1 with current set up. 317 heads and it was in the middle of project. So other than 317, z06 cam, and few other things, it is stock

I took some liberties in calculating you compression ratio but it should bump it ~0.70:1 to 0.75:1.

Cylinder Head Volume - 317 - 71.06 cc
Piston Head Volume - Stock - 0.00 cc
Gasket Thickness - Stock - 0.052 in
Gasket Bore - Stock? - 3.785 in
Cylinder Bore - Stock - 3.780 in
Deck Clearance - Stock - (-)0.010 in
Stroke - Stock - 3.27 in
Static Compression Ratio - 8.632:1

Cylinder Head Volume - 243 - 64.45 cc
Piston Head Volume - Stock - 0.00 cc
Gasket Thickness - Stock - 0.052 in
Gasket Bore - Stock? - 3.785 in
Cylinder Bore - Stock - 3.780 in
Deck Clearance - Stock - (-)0.010 in
Stroke - Stock - 3.27 in
Static Compression Ratio - 9.332:1

If you can give me or find me the exact specs on your deck clearance, gasket thickness, and gasket bore, I can be more specific.

well you've got a small ci. motor with no compression and a big *** cam. my opinion is its not going to make great power.

mill the heads down and fly cut your pistons.
