sucks... last inspection I got, he walked around the car and said honk your horn, before I could even turn the car off. handed the guy 15 bucks, piece of cake..

 

whats a ispection? is it mexican for inspection?

 

Never go to one of those red, white, and blue state inspection stations. Those guys are looking to fail you, usually. Oil lubd places aren't much better. I tend to drift to the less affluent side of town, where cars are a little more run-down and inspections a lot more lax.

best advice as far as inspections go.

 

Where i get my inspections i go in and tell i want an inspection give em the keys and they drive it and come back and its all done. And i have no cats at all

 

go to a place with no pit and they will have a harder time telling, especially if you're car is lowered... if it really becomes a problem you could get some converter shells welded around your pipes to make it look like you still have cats

 

Actually he's right, I hear some guy by new Laredo hwy, will pass you, all you have to do is leave a six pack on the passenger seat, give him 14.50, tell him your millage and you're done!

Did he put you in the TAVIS system? If so you can't get a sticker at any location until you get it fixed (unless someone really wants to chance 2 years of immediate jail time). If a shop changes your status from fail to pass on the TAVIS unit and someone gets suspicious, you can have your local authorities up your ***.

I've said it in other inspection threads and I'll say it again here, it's so easy to pass a visual inspection that it's not even funny. If you are running straight exhaust, just spend the $50 a pop on some cheap 3" cats off eBay and put them on your exhaust and just gut them. That way you pass the visual. If you're in a county that does emissions then just make sure your car is tuned properly and you should be golden. Our motors burn pretty efficiently.

 

No he didn't put me in the system, he actually told me to try some of the Mexican shops around.

I've actually thought about putting cats back on and selling my car. I'm ready to get back into a gixxer and have a truck on the side.
