p/s steering question
p/s steering question so i replaced a p/s pump in my gf 00 dodge ram 5.9 1/2 ton. anyways got the pump on there and everything, but the new re-man pump from oriellys "wines" a lot more. esp when you turn the wheel at idle, and yes there is fluid in the pump. am i suppose to drain all the fluid from the lines if so how do i do that? by disconnecting a line from the steering box? or is that just normal?
i did that. i jacked up the front wheels and turned the wheels side to side prob about 3-4 times and the fluid stayed around the same level so i didnt go any further. so i should do it more, and can the wheels stay on the ground or should i jack up the front tires a bit.
ever been told you did not do it enough ?
but back to your PS problem "YOU DID NOT DO IT ENOUGH" try at least 10 times lock to lock, you should see some improvment, it still have problem try again 10 times, I do not know if jacking up would make any differance , I never bother to jack the car up , just turn slowly with engine running, I would think the re man pump is good if still have problem I would talk to supplier
