Light duty sucks!!
Light duty sucks!! I work in operations at a local refinery and last monday got a steam burn (2nd and 3rd)while at work. They have me working 7-330 Monday-Friday and it sucks bad. No more long change for 5 weeks. I cant stand sitting in a cubicle all day. Im ready to duct tape a bandage on and go back to making gasoline.. On the bright side looking at tech all day helps

I agree, safety first and they do say every accident is preventable but that's not true. I wish it was true though. I've seen alot of people get hurt that I wish could have been prevented before hand, whether preventable or not.
The white part on my ankle doesn't have much feeling. The outer edges hurt like a mo fo.. My accident is preventable now. We developed a standard on steam traps that run them into a sewer. I always wear whatever ppe is required but this time I happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Monday I see the company doc. I'm going to ask him to release me or at the very least ease up on my restrictions. The longer I'm in the training department the more of a chance I'll get stuck there. I like the stress free valve turning job way better.

On another note, every accident is NOT preventable......plenty of measures can be taken to minimize the chance of bad things happening, but mechanical parts fail, plain and simple......wrong place at the wrong time is all it takes sometimes.....

Being an operator myself, I always wear mid calf boots at the very least just for situations like this. That looks pretty painful! Did the steam trap payoff on your leg? Ouch. Dont rush back to the unit too soon...make sure you're all healed up!
yeah and not everyone follows the lock out tag out rule, i fell 2 stories when someone put back a harness that had damage, my back is still fd up to this day, having another surgery very soon, hope you get better soon op
Nasty burn there, hope it gets better soon. LD does suck, I just spent 4 months on Light Limited. Got threaten for Captains Mast twice for violating the rules trying to keep in shape.
