HMP adding X275 Class HMP will run a X275 class starting in September at the Pro Mod Meltdown on September 8th. We will run it for the remainder of the year and if all goes well, it will be part of our program in 2013 as well. Rules and and a competitive purse will follow soon. We intend to use existing rules that are already in place elsewhere and may make temporary exceptions (add weight...lol) for those outside rules to get class started. As we stated earlier, beginning on September 8th, HMP will add an X275 class to our monthly events. HMP will follow the X275 rules as published on X275.net. Temporarily for the last three races this year (Sept, Oct & Nov), we will allow the Chevrolet Tall Block above 588 cubic inches up to a maximum of 632 cubic inches with a weight penalty of 150 lbs. At the end of this season, we will make the decision on whether to continue this exception for 2013. Should the rules changes on X275.net, so will the rules at HMP. The X275 class will be part of the entire 2013 season as well.
We are currently seeking sponsorship for the class and hope to publish a purse soon. In the absence of sponsorship, HMP will commit to a purse that will pay back 8 places with a minimum of $1000 to win. Any sponsorship dollars will be added to increase the purse.
Finally, Dean has committed to do whatever is necessary with regard to track prep for the radial. He won’t be happy until the track hooks hard enough to break any and all weak parts of your drive train. Lol. We hope that everyone will support the X275 class as both racers and spectators.
