Ha! That thread is pretty funny. I didn't realize that LS-1 powered, WS-6 Trans Ams had 5.6-liter engines from the factory. But that dude said so on a forum — and with great conviction — so it must be true. I learn something new every day...

"WS6's are slow. Try racing them above 85mph and you will win! LS1 usually hits a wall at 85mph..."

really?? I've never experienced that issue before in mine. I wander, does the f-body crowd here know as little about other makes & models as the members seem to about our cars?

I made it through all 9 pages (bored to death at work). I'd like to think we know more about other cars than they know about ours but when I read stories in the SRK section about a bolt on LT1 putting bus lengths on a rocket I start to question us a little.....

I wish my LT1 would outrun my ZX6.

Thought I'd give the thread a shot. For all the effort I put in, I only got to page 3. I was going strong until I came up to gizmoSRT4's response, a five-time 4th gen owner. I figured he was a knowledgeable F-body owner who would respond and restore order to that thread. Then, all of a sudden, crash and burn as Mr. gizmoSRT4 indicated "All 5th gen Trans Am's had V8's". I would have just chalked it up to a simple typo until he went on to say that the "some late model 01's and 02's have the LS6 block. This is the reason why the HP rating went up to 310 in 01".

At that point, it was over, I could read no more. I own an 07 SRT8 Charger and that thread is embarassing to say the least. I'm an F-body guy, always have been, always will be. I am by no means an expert on the SRT8, especially since my wife drives it. However, I did do some reading on the basics such as engine size, tire diameter, quirks, etc from a variety of sources so I dont look like a complete jack *** when asked a question. Surprise they know anything about their own cars considering how little they know about cars in general.

Why do people act like they are knowledgeable about something they KNOW they don't know **** about? Is it really that hard to just shut the **** up and get the facts?
