Default 02 TA headlight issue

In my 2002 TA, Last week the headlight motor started to grind. I have not had time to do the quick fix but have only used the lights a handfull of times. I used it tonight drove about 1 mile ate dinner, drove 1 mile home and when I turned off the headlight the drivers side was still grinding, but the passenger side sayed up...........? Any one ever seen this? what should I do? Thanks in advance.

The gear is stripped. Try the free fix.

Free fix didn't work for me. Buy a new NYLON gear and swap it out. Easy as pie! The nylon is made to wear so you can just replace it. If you use a harder material like an aluminum/brass gear you could potentially wear the worm gear out that is NOT replaceable.

Spend money on a part that is going to wear out again? I'd rather save and buy an aluminum gear. But, I haven't needed to since the free fix worked just fine for me.

Yeah I was planning on doing the free fix this weekend, But my biggest worry is why didnt the passenger side headlight go down all of a sudden?
