This is my current build and it is always better to build your own because then it is customized the way you want it.
Just built a Grendel, love it!

I'm breaking it in right now, but I can't wait to start stretching it's legs!

OP maybe I missed it, but what exactly are you looking for in the rifle? There are SOOOOO many options for higher end AR's that you really need to examine what you want to do with it before you start looking or else you'll buy something that you aren't happy with.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum ... I'm seeing how cheap I can put and AR15 together.

Bought a New Frontier complete lower at a gun show for $99. PSA had a labor day sale and I bought a 20" upper for $229. Now I need to find a BCG and I'm off to the range.

It's light weight and compact. It should send a hunk of lead down range like any other. It'll be a great knock around gun.

I hope to be under $450.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a Windham Weaponry Varmint Exterminator within the next few weekends.

Bravo Company(my favorite), LMT, Daniel Defense, and you can't go wrong with a Larue. You're going to pay more for these than Rock Rivers and what not, but you get what you pay for. My BCM is dead nuts accurate and the fit and finish is absolutely outstanding. All of the above mentioned companies also have very good customer service if you have ANY problems whatsoever.

Colt offers a nice Magpul edition with a 16" barrel. you can pick one up at a gun show for around $1200 then put a Eotec on it and be done with it.

I have a DPMS with lots of furniture and this thing has been bullet proof! Never had any issue at all and it's spot on accurate. Great gun!

what exactly makes any AR "high end"? just curious. Is it the price or the reliability of the item because just about every AR i have held and fired feels almost the same.

I used a Zombie Spikes Tactical lower;

And yes, it's a Grendel upper. I was going to go with Alexander Arms, but they were backed up pretty far on orders. I went with a 20" DoubleStar upper assembly and couldn't have been happier!

What are you going to use the gun for and why do you want a "high end" rifle? Seekins, Noveske, Mega, etc.... are all nice.

I just picked up this exact lower. Pictures don't do it justice its an awesome piece. I'm gonna go this route with a grendel sometime next year, but I'm gonna assemble my first one in 5.56x45.

Aimsurplus.com usually carries a nice and basic Spikes tactical AR-15 and its priced right.
Spikes tactical make really nice ARs. When they do have them in stock they usually sell out fast. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.as...fle&groupid=11

Ga precision GAP-10 with a Geissele trigger assembly is 1/2 MOA all day.
Put a Schmidt and Bender, or Nightforce scope on and call it an "Attitude Adjuster."

Piston driven for reliability and heavy use - LWRC, Patriot Ordinance

Les Baer, Larue(uses a LW50 barrel IIRC, one of the best barrels), Kights Armament, Noveske(hard to find in 7.62 anymore), LMT(British army uses the L129A1 with a SS barrel IIRC). Mega arms makes quality parts, and White Oak has some fine barrels, for a great price. A KAC M110 would be something worth owning for sure. Good luck, you really can't go wrong with any.
