LOL What a crock of ****... What power did that GT make? 1,700 @ 283mph... Not likely... The youtube video wasn't indicative of anything but a bunch of glamorous shots and flybys lol. Looks like they need to bring the GT on down to Tejas to set the "record" straight... The Guiness Title should go to Sean Kennedy unless I'm way out in left field with my info..

Video is pretty, but 283 mph is total BS.

Guiness isn't the authority on measuring mile speed records, they have to trust the person putting it together. Why didn't they just do this record attempt at a sanctioned event, in public? That alone seems fishy.

At TI, for the first half of the day on Saturday, we had the trap speed sensors in the wrong position. The trap box was supposed to be something like 66 feet long. Someone accidentally put the sensors 60 feet apart. That six foot error caused the speeds to read 20-25 mph higher than actual. Who says this chump crew didn't do the same thing?

Exactly.

$10 bucks says, he owns the rights to the "standing mile official organization" or whatever Guinness is calling it. If they're offical, why woldn't they out at the actual event, as opposed to a private rental?

Yup, it's easy. Just move the speed sensors closer to each other. Done!

The fact that people keep balling up cars at the last few events tells me our decision to use the superior facility at NASA was the correct choice.
