Oil pressure problem
Its not a ls car but I have a question. I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 6 cylinder truck. When I come to a stop, the oil pressure guage drops to zero and truck wants to die but dosent. I think its the oil pump but not sure. Any suggestions?!?

Drops to 0 and still running?
Maybe just your gage is faulty, if it was the pump, more than likely bearings would be toast. Put a mech gage on there. Perhaps your vehicle has some sort of kill device if oil psi drops to unsafe level. But its not working if motor is still running. With zero.oil psi.
Im amazed motor is still alive with no oil psi if the pump is junk. Maybe also the pickup screen is severly clogged with gunk to drop psi so low. Or could just be faulty gage

If your pressure only drops to zero when you stop it means your pickup tube probably fell off. I had this happen on an LT1 and had to pull the pan and have the tube welded on. The oil slides to one side of the pan when you hit the brakes but after you sit the oil pressure picks back up right?
If that's not it not sure.
