Same thing as others, tornadoes in Austin are rare, nothing like North Texas/OKC. Your job does dictate where you want to live in Austin, I've lived everywhere here South, East , NW, Central and they all have their pro's and con's. Traffic isn't nearly as bad as Houston or L.A. but Austin drivers are retarded especially in any inclement weather. Mopac and 35 are bad during rush hour but if you pick a home in the right area compared to where you work then you will be fine.

Traffic definitely can suck in ATX, but you are right, much worse in Houston and LA...Lived in ATX area for 9 years and then we moved back to Houston area a couple of years ago, thought I was going to need xanax just to drive to/from work...I don't know how people do it in LA, spent 3 months there on a job, ******* insane...

Yeah it takes me about 1 hour 10 minutes to get to work in the morning and I only drive 35 miles.

I swear I don't understand traffic, if you can't drive or lack the confidence/skills then get off the road or move over to the right, you are not entitled to the left lane. It is fun to see people drive who have never experienced weather before, I learned to drive in Colorado in the snow and drove through a storm once in Texas and have driven in a few very decent storms. L.A driving is a joke.

As far as not moving there because someone doesn't like the traffic, well that is just too bad if we decide to move there I am the least of your worries, traffic dumbfounds me as it is quite illogical, it must be some liberal hippie who thinks everyone should go the same speed as them.
