I ordered a 14 sierra on 9/30 and was told it would be 6-8 weeks before it came in. My salesman emailed me on 10/28 and said my truck was built and would be here either the first or second week of November. Well it's been almost 9 weeks after I ordered it and almost 4 weeks since the truck was completed. My question is how long does it usually take for these trucks to get to houston / dealer?

If I'm not mistaken gm is producing these trucks out of the flint, MI plant. Should it really take over a month to ship here. I understand a couple of weeks but my patience is kind of wearing thin.

If anyone works at a gmc dealer and can look up my truck that would be great. All my salesman is telling me is that it's still on the train.

Thats not out of the normal with gm. Took me 6 months to receive mine. Many times there was a constraint or it was bayed at gms assembly plant. Best way to find out its status is thru gm customer service.

 

Can you track your order? Normally its about 6-8weeks.

No there is no way for me to track it. Appearntly there used to be a site that you could track certain gm vehicles. It started with the 2010 camaros but they shut that site down last year.

 

Why not the 6.2

 

Because it wasn't available when I ordered mine but mainly because it drinks so much gas. Don't get me wrong I'm getting a truck for its capabilities and comfort and not for it's gas mileage otherwise I would buy a Prius. However the 5.3 has plenty of power to get the job done and gets decent mileage. If I were to get the 6.2 and put a front leveling kit and tires I'm sure I would be getting 13-14 mpg instead of 15-17 with the 5.3. The 5.3 is just more practical to me, 6.2 would be nice but it's more money now and down the road.
