Nice add op. My friend just picked up a brand new 2013 2ss rs ls3 manual and is wanting to sell it and get into a new 5.0 coyote. Out of mere curiousity why the change because to my knowledge the 5.0 mustangs are faster (stock ) and mod for mod than a camaro.

I miss the C6Z, it was a great vehicle, but I needed more seats.

The 5.0 is the better drag race car, lighter and way easier to launch. I think the 2 are pretty close as far as performance, usually a drivers race. However, this 1LE drives, brakes and handles far superior to the Mustang, and mine had extensive suspension work. I can always add power to the Camaro but I don't care what you do the Mustang it is not going to be as good for daily driving, even slightly damp roads used to cause fear. I've played the sideways shuffle more than a few times when the road was bumpy and wet or trying to turn quickly.

Even in a straight line it depends on the driver,I have beat many cars I should have lost to at the track.

Around a road course even using the same driver for both cars the 1LE will crush every Stang.
.
Times from Milford Proving Grounds

Around the 2.9 mile test loop, Chevy compared the Z/28 to some interesting benchmarks – its siblings, the 1LE and ZL1, and its arch enemies, the Mustang GT500 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca.

Interestingly, the car with the most power, the GT500, also posted the slowest lap time, clocking a 1:59.97. The Laguna Seca did a bit better, running a 1:59.05, followed by the 1LE at 1:58.85. Despite the intensely technical nature of the test track, the ZL1 was still able to use its superior horsepower compared to the 1LE to run a faster 1:56.58, but it was the Z/28 that delivered the best time at a mere 1:53.71

I'll have to wait and see about that, I said it feels faster. My best out of the bolt-on GT was a 12.4 @ 113 on street tires, in much better weather than we are having now. I have yet to take the Camaro to the track, it's only been 2 1/2 weeks since I bought it.
