What are a set of chrome Firehawk wheels worth?
What are a set of chrome Firehawk wheels worth? I've got a set on my car and would like to change the wheels on it. I'm just not sure how much they are worth. The wheels aren't curbed but do have some chrome bubbling on them in some small spots (apparently this is common). They have nearly new Firestone Firehawk tires on them. Maybe 500 miles or so along with the warranty from Firestone. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I have a hawk with silver wheels. I only keep them for the value of the car. I see them for sale for $300-$1000 but have never actually seen any sell. Most Firehawk owners aren't looking to buy a set because they already have a set. Guys that don't own hawks usually won't buy them because they aren't very attractive to most.
Like Cody said they're an odd duck. Most the chrome ones I have seen have the chrome peeling. So to have them redone would out weigh they're value to most. Unless you have a Firehawk and want to keep the correct stock wheels. To every one else they're just factory wheels.
Our Firehawk is asthetically original and in excellent condition. I needed a new set of wheels for our Firehawk due to a curb jumping during an accident I couldn't avoid but managed to save the front clip. Sets in excellent condition were going from 700-1200 bare with the best deals closing quickly. After several months of watching and some deals that feel through I was contacted by a member who was a former Firehawk owner who had taken a set of the painted Firehawk wheels in excellent condition and sent them to Cal-Chrome where they were professionally show quality chromed coming out better than the originals were when new. I paid $1,400 for the set that had never been mounted after chromeing and were still in the chrome company's shipping boxes. That's the highest I've seen for a bare set but anyone who sees them agrees they're worth every penny. It's hard to say on yours without pics but with new Firehawk tires on them an in excellent condition you could easily get over a thousand for them. Listing them on the Firehawk forum would help find someone looking to replace or restore on a Hawk. In my experience there's always someone looking.
