That's hardly gutted...rear seat delete, weld rts wheels, aluminum DS and front sway bar delete=gutted..LOL....those are pretty standard weight reductions a lot of guys make. Still has the stock front seats, carpet, radio and AC.

You would still keep an ls2 vette over an L99/Ls3 camaro?

My gripe with the 5th gen is the made by mattel interior the overall lousy ergonomics of the interior and miserable blind spots which are things to consider for a DD. But, to each his own. Go drive each car for a weekend then decide what fit's you the best.

The interior in all of these cars leaves something to be desired, whether it be camaro, mustang, corvette etc..folks arguing over which is nicest is like a couple of hobos arguing over who's underpass has the best ambience...

My 1995 BMW M3 was light years ahead of my C5 in terms of interior quality.

I'm kinda under the same boat as the OP, had my share of a 4th gen and 5th gen and gave it up. Been real close to getting a V2, 2 or 3 times now but never pulled the trigger. I'm kinda tired of the whole car payment thing and looking to buy a nice daily and a track ***** myself but them new 5.0's look pretty damn good imo.

Lol. E36 interior is equal to C5 at best.

I guess I should have said my redone stock interior and new headliner e36 m3 was better than my c5's. I have no idea what GM was thinking with these seats.

My votes on 5.0 you need more oomph drop a blower on and call it a day. I've test driven a couple and for me and my likings it gets the vote. But as stated earlier drive em all and decide what you like the best and go that way. Cause opinions are like ******** everybody has one.

Agreed. Coworker ran 9s a few times with a blower, slicks, and race gas several times before his oil pump failed(over 700rwhp). Another guy has a CS daily that runs low-mid 10s.

Being a long term owner, as in I keep my cars for a long time usually, the Chevy is cheaper and easier to fix. They will all break and I want the cheaper repair bill.

I like both but I had to let the 2011 mustang grow on me.

Instantly loved the camaro. Don't agree with the remote shifter linkage in the mustang, don't like the weight of the camaro, although I've seen folks claim they cut back to 3400ish and still had all interior.....but I would have to see that for myself.

Driven both and like the IRS camaro ride quality and blown away with handling for the weight. Mustang....how can you go wrong with a solid axle for race track?

Yea, i too was in a similar situation before the newer z06. I was going with the 5.0 honestly because of weight, faster stock, and less blind spots. I just got really lucky and got the C6Z. If I were in a choice between the 5.0 and 5th gen it would be a 5.0 hands down, just watch out for the mt82 6 speed manual trans in them.

My friend has a heads cam full bolt on 5th gen manual and how he wishes he bought the 5.0 lol
