Default LQ9 to 408 stroker

I have an 03 SS Silverado and it's about time for a rebuild. I have been looking around for information on 408s and seems like something I would like to try in the truck. the truck is stock, and with the trans starting to go, it feels like the right time to take care of the engine while I have to replace the tranny.

can you guys give me a rundown of the parts I would need to have something that can be an all around platform.

You'll need a stroker kit and anything else that you want to do.

There's about a billion parts that we could recommend. Not really a one size fits all thing so hard to just throw out a list.

You should be looking at heads, intake, headers, really strong trans or going to an 80e, cam, injectors, stall etc.

If it was me on a lighter truck I would go ls3 top end, 4l80e, BTR stage 3/4 truck cam, and headers. Aim for a 10.5:1 compression ratio. Should be nails .

We have everything you need. Tell us what kind of compression you're thinking of and whether you'll be running nitrous or boost down the road.
