There's many things that can cause overheating and I would start with the easiest and work from there. It could be as simple as trapped air in the system, a defective water pump or logged radiator or heater core to something serious like a blown head gasket.

From a cost standpoint the best person to work on your vehicle is you!

How hot is it running? You can start by pressure testing the system. I just did this to my nephews ride. I got the kit from O’ Riley’s. You have to put up the money, but you get it back when you return it. It lets you test the cap and the system. We found out that his water pump was leaking so we fixed that. Another thing to do in Houston is get it programmed so both fans come on. Also make sure that there is no debris on the radiator. Put a 180 high flow thermostat in and flush the system. Then, put in all new Preston and all will be well.

Try Motorsport technologies in Houston. Billy and Jayson do good work!
