This thing costs so much for its simple function that I think I'll be forced to roll the lips on every single car I have, and my fiance's car, just so I can feel I got my money's worth out of it. hahaha

Hell, if the lug pattern fits I'll do the dually too

Hey man a baseball bat is a much cheaper alternative, and it works.

no thanks on taking a baseball bat to a car I just slaved over for the last year. I'd rather do it safely and correctly.

What ever happened to buyin' the beer & pizza? I loan tools out all the time....maybe I should have been renting them. I'm usually just happy enough to be able to help my buddies out to be concerned about the $$.

The tool is overpriced for what it does, thats why. If it were a good value, everyone would buy one. I would have gladly paid someone to borrow theirs, as shown in the original post here.

Another idea would be to roll my fenders and just sell it on ebay. Then everyone would have to buy it on their own

Or find out who all wants to use it here & you all pitch in to get it, then sell it on ebay & split back the proceeds.

Hi. This is Peter K. from Eastwood. I like the idea of buying one, not returning it, and renting it out to your buddies better. Given the rental interest, it might make sense to buy two or three!

If I find one laying around the shop, it's yours. But you have to cut me in on your rental profits.

Does it crack the paint or change the strength of the fender?

If you heat the paint before yo roll them then the pait won't chip. even if you don't I hear it doesn't crack it much.

Aren't you supposed to cut the paint on the lip under the fender before you roll it, and then put masking tape over the area you're about to roll, to prevent the paint from cracking? Thats the impression I've always been under. I like the rental idea. Easily paid for and then some.

no, you just heat up the paint to around 180F range and roll slowly back and forth. I just bought a heat gun at Home Depot for $30.

Hopefully my roller shows up tomorrow!

You would only cut the paint if you don't heat it. But cutting the paint doesn't mean it wouldn't crack it just provents it from cracking as far as it would if you didn't cut it
