Porting Gods in Houston
Porting Gods in Houston I have a set of "old-school" ARE Stage 3 heads that I want to use for an upcoming 395 buildup. The only problem is that I really don't know how well these heads flow. All I know is that they have 2.08/1.60 Valves; brand unknown, Comp 987 springs, and Comp Ti retainers.
I ran these heads on the 347 that came in my 01 TA, that came with 11.4 time slips with the G5-X2 and NX wet 150 shot. I never ran it with the nos, and it honestly never ran very well, even after I had it tuned at MTI. Then I spun a rod bearing in it three months ago. The car idled very poorly, reeking of gasoline, and didn't smooth out until 5000 or so.
I'm planning a rebuild on the motor with a Lunati 395 rotating assembly, and want to get the heads freshened up with a good valve job and would REALLY like to have them flowed and if there is room for improvement, re-ported.
Who would you guys reccommend in the Houston area for this, based on skill level, customer service reputation, and (ideally) quick turn around.
