Default Apartments

My apartments that I've referred to several individuals are now trying to screw me out of $1,000 by revoking money they already credited to their account. At this moment I have no idea if this will end up in court, but I have a strong feeling that they are willing to take it there.

I just don't see their reasoning. Over a $1,000 credit they gave to me and are trying to revoke they are risking multiple thousands of dollars in lost revenue by doing bad business. This is a complex who I've referred to about 5 people with two of which directly moving in and others strongly considering, as well as, being a company which my employeer uses to house clients and employees. With the rate that word of mouth complaints move on the internet, and my employer finding out about this, along with the others I've referred they are risking all of that by trying to screw someone out of money that they made a deal to give and then took away without notice and then began to ask for money in back rent.

I'm just pissed and can't see their justification or morality of it all along with their reasoning to do bad business in order to save $1,000 up front and lose much more later down the road. Did I mention my good friends last name happens to be Zindler... ?

Ahhhh!

Ok I'll stop ranting now...

Good luck, I would bet money they will take it to court. Believe me I do apartment locating and sometimes it is hell trying to collect on an invoice. Just depends on the management company, some are good and some are down right nasty.

PS if you want a good referral fee, pm me I will tell ya how to do that

Have you talked to the management company? You will get further with them versus just a leasing manager/agent.

I would point out to the management company just how much money they stand to loose. The apartment market is hurting right now. They can't afford to loose business.

Good luck,

-Tracey

That is true, some people will promise you the world. I have been in the real estate business since 97, I have seen a lot in my time, especially with apartments. That is mostly what I do, is apartment locating, and some houses for friends. I agree with Tracey get ahold of the managment company, I am sure if you PM her, she will be more than happy to help you out getting that information to you.

Thanks

Well, as it stands now I am just waiting to get some paperwork about this from their attorney before I take things any further. My e-mail to the Regional Manager wasn't answered by her, but was passed down to the location manager and we discussed it yesterday afternoon. She said they were wrong for only having a verbal policy and are going to be making changes because of this whole ordeal and so on so forth. However, having an attorney write up terms for this now is like a little kid making up new rules in the middle of a game in order to win...

I am going to wait until tomorrow and go speak with them again and depending on what they decide to do after their attorney looks at everything I'll make my decision on how to pursue this. They are affraid to mention anything to me now without first having their attorney involved and from what I could tell by talking to the manager. They know what their deal was and no that I am right, but they are trying to save their own @ss right now. Having her come out and admit that will be an entirely different thing though.

Hell, I even referred you to the place Jack... I have sent so many people in their direction and in return get screwed over for it.
I don't have a problem with paying the money if it were the right thing to do, but the actions they are taking in going back on their own policy makes me want to fight it more than the money ever would.
