Hey guys and gals,

I just took a job up in Amarillo, TX. I dont know to much about that area but I am coming from Maryland. I understand that they have an IHRA track up there. Amarillo Drag Way. Anyone ever been to that track?

Been there it really sucked but they got a new owner from what i heard they are laying down new pavement as we speak. I am from a small town about an hour away and we race at Amarillo dragway all the time. Um it will be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. U will get 90-100 degree temps in the summer and single digits in the winter and snow. expect ur times to suck. I don't what elevatio u race at there but in Amarillo we are at 3700 ft.

Lubbock has an okay track (Idalou Raceway), nothing to scream about and the elevation is just below that of Amarillo. There is also a track in Brownfield (Delaca)about 30 miles from Lubbock that is supposed to be pretty good but not great either. TSP is located here in Lubbock and they're really good people to become friends with.
I think the elevation combined with shitty air drag the times down out here.

The track's not open yet, but we're hearing mid-March. Be sure and check out the website posted by HOTRODn and consider joining our local club.
