o2 sensor 4 questions ???

o2 sensor 4 questions ??? I took my muffler and y-pipe off and drove around and the ses light came on, so i went to auto zone, the guy scanned it and said my drivers side o2 was bad. 1: How could this have happened in such a short time? 2: Could it be wrong because of my !mods? 3: What are the consequences of not replacing soon? 4: Is there a way around the 02 sensor so i never have this problem again? Any clarification will help, thanks.

All that autozone scanner is saying is that you have a P0XXX code and they say that because it threw that code the part must be bad. Hook everything back up and clear the code. It will probably be fine.

3. Just runs rich.
4. Delete the rear o2's or get simms. Just worry about that when you get headers or ORY.
Put that stuff back on, its not a race car. Go get the codes you have and look them up and see which o2 it is. If its the rear ones get them deleted or get simms.

thanks, i think i will just get simms, even if i put everything back on i will add a cut out and always drive with it open anyway...thats just me, the louder the more i enjoy it, i have been driving without a muffler for about 4 months now, just took the y-pipe off sunday and thats when the o2 went bad, but it sounds crazy.....i know its not a race car..since it is the drivers side rear i will get simms, THANKS.
